A Note from Our Founder

After having spent more than 12 years at preschools, both as an educator and as a preschool principal winning nationwide accolades for the centres under my charge, I decided to go back to where my passion lies - 'Teaching', and founded Kids Wonder in 2016.

I started out working with expatriate children who were non-English speakers. However, in order to immerse themselves into the Singapore education system, they needed to learn to read, write and speak in English within a short period of time.

While I could tailor the curriculum to suit their individual needs, I soon realised that I needed to come up with a systematic method of teaching Speaking, Phonics & Reading, Spelling & Writing and Grammar, in order to have them build a strong foundation of the English language.

Kids Wonder English Literacy Programme has worked wonders since, having groomed numerous young learners who are both native and non-native speakers of English, into learning how to read in a short span of time.

Once proficient in reading, the learners would grasp the concepts of identifying ‘sounds’ in words, and thus empowering them in ‘breaking up’ words and spelling independently. Subsequently, we would introduce to the little learners the grammar rules of the language, which serves to prepare them for formal education in primary schools.

The advent of technology today is surging through all spheres of life, thereby revolutionising the field of education. Technology grants educators the will to bring forth learning aids such as e-books, online tutorials, and more into the classes, in the comfort of your homes.

It is thereby my call to mission, of extending Kids Wonder Literacy Programme online, reaching out to every learner, no matter where you are at, on inspiring mastery of the English language.

With Love,
Claire
